I’m still working on studio samples and alongside those, I’ve been folding more paper. It’s really interesting how these folds are inspiring me and they are certainly helping to push the sample work forward.
I’ve spent the morning working with folded paper – taking photos and making sketches to record the way the creases interact with each other.
I love the different orientations of the folds as they bend in on themselves. I’m also really interested in the distortion that folding can make to an original image. I did a lot of this during my degree but had forgotten how powerfully it can inspire.
So now I have more sample ideas, I’d better get back to the knitting.
