Something Floral

I’ve finished all my jobs for the week and am looking forward to a whole day off tomorrow. I’ve got to do some small jobs for … well that’s news that can wait a little while longer yet, but tomorrow I will be knitting for my friend’s wedding.

Remember I told you she asked me to knit the buttonholes which are doubling as favours? Well this is what I’ve come up with

It’s a crochet flower which is quite a departure for me. And I couldn’t find a pattern that made sense to me so I … experimented (that’s fancy design-speak for “made it up as I went along”) It uses scraps of sock yarn which is great. I have plenty of that!

My plan for tomorrow is to knock out some more of these. I’ve got about 120 to make so it may take me more than an afternoon.

What an incredible gift. You are a great friend. ( But I knew that already)

She is one of my closest friends and she is my favourite wife. She did so much to make my wedding so special last year, this is the very least I can do.

Cor, crikey….crochet eh? Are you heading over to the dark side?! Anyway, those flowers are going to look awesome at the wedding – can’t wait to see a photo of them all :)

Don’t panic. I don’t think I have the heart of a hooker. Crocheting these makes this a quicker process and quite a nice fabric but not something I plan to do regularly.

That said I may make some to decorate my studio.
